The new Stellar Star Oboe Reed is made of the finest hand-selected materials. Each piece of cane is hand selected, hand gouged, shaped with an original Brannen x-narrow shaper, wrapped on the finest staples, and scraped to perfection. Each operation is personally performed to the strictest tolerances by Amy Collins. The outcome is a reed with great response and a beautiful dark centered sound.
Two different staples to choose from:
Traditional Silver Staple - made to our specifications, these staples are very consistent and produce a good tip opening, good response, and a big sound with little effort.
New Chudnow Staple - bronze alloy with no cork. These unique staples are precisely machined to the closest tolerances. Their unique design, precise machining, and lack of cork allow for improved response, increased resonance, consistent tone colors, and extended dynamic range.
